Way Cool WordPress Stuff

I am so excited that WordPress is releasing their newest version this week. I have ranted and raved about WordPress and how powerful this open source platform really is. Until you use it and learn it, you really have no idea of what it really has to offer. Sure, you can research it for yourself online and you will find many articles for it, as well as many against it. I think my favorite aspect to the WP platform is how it is ever evolving. Individuals and groups of individuals (a little oxymoron there?) always finding a better way, a faster, easier way to do and improve on a solid foundation.

I actually got a test version of sorts installed tonight on one of my newest sites. I will wait until the official release before I install it on the rest of my sites and onto my clients sites. I am really looking forward to all the new features… though, as usual, I suspect that many will lie behind the scenes and be visible to the users. One feature that I am looking forward to are some changes within the post and pages areas. From what I have been reading, there are to be some changes there that allow you to recall things from the trash. And speaking of trash… that in itself is a new addition. I better go see what I can find.

Some of the other way cool WordPress things that I have been experimenting with is some of the premium themes. Premium themes are themes that I have paid for. They typically have a lot of extra features and normally have many built in plugins along with a simplified back-end user interface. The newest one that I am using is absolutely incredible. And it was released today too. This theme combined with the WP platform is going to simplify customization and reduce the amount of time it usually takes to tweek other theme code. I will post more about it as I learn all of it’s ins and outs. All I know, is that I am blown away and cannot wait to go play with my new toys.

I guess my Christmas came early thanks to WordPress and some other great theme developers. Happy blogging!

I use WordPress and it seems like every other week the last few months there has been an update.

I switched over from blogger at the beginning of this year and would never go back.

Yes, I agree. A lot of people complain about the numerous changes – or change in general. I like to welcome change, it gives me a chance to learn something new; and grow! Glad to have another WP advocate reader. Thanks for visiting!
