Off Road Lesson

Think: With recent tecnilogical advances such as Facebook, are people more connected today as a result?

Reflect: Share with the group or in a comment below, the loneliest moment of your life.

Scripture: Romans 12:9-13

Love in Action
9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

9-10Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.
11-13Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.

9Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Paul gives four commands concerning our response to people…

  1. Be devoted
  2. Honor one another above yourself
  3. Share with people in need
  4. Practice hospitality

Which of these do you find easy. and which ones do you find hard to do? Why? (Comment below if compelled to do so).

How is spiritual Intimacy fostered when people go through adversity and difficult time with one another?

Surrender:  What is the barrier that has been keeping you from developing a close group of friends? What can THIS group do to help you overcome this barrier?

  1. I am going to take on the low degree challenge and push myself by accomplishing this daily and posting sincere affirmations and encouragements on their social media networks. In addition, I will also attempt the medium degree challenge by planning a dinner out with a friend or a couple of close friends.
